Oh, sleep.

Today I did something I have never done before. Something so shocking,it left me more than a little stunned, and required several double takes to verify its occurrence.

And it all started with a phone call - one I didn't answer.

When I first heard the phone ring, I pulled away from my dream about a friend yelling at me just enough to discover that me feet were cold, and curl into a warmer position.

The second time the phone rang (or was it the third - or even the fourth?), I found myself quickly yanked from the stroll in a greenhouse that I had been on while deep asleep, and quickly discovered that the sinus headache I went to sleep with had not gone away. I rolled back into bed, intending to sleep some more, when I heard the distant voice of my mother calling my name from the answering machine.

I slid out of bed and checked the clock on my way to pick up the phone. It was positioned at 1:30, and all I thought was "gotta put a new battery in that thing".

I picked up the phone, and while talking with my mother I looked at the clock on the oven. 1:30. I went and grabbed my cellphone. 1:30.

"Hey mom, what time is it?" "It's 1:30". Let the shock commence.

By now most of you are probably just as confused as I am. "Whats the big deal? So you slept in, you are on break." is probably along the lines of what you are thinking. But the thing is, I don't sleep in. At least, not by other people's standards. Nine o'clock is considered really late to sleep in for me (I blame my parents for programing me to always wake up at the crack of dawn. No offense, mom and dad :)

Suffice to say, this is a new 'sleep in world record' for me, one that makes me ask "what time will I wake up tomorrow??", because I'm definitely not going to be able to get to sleep at my preferred time of 10:00 tonight.
