January 24

So Tired. Ughhh.. And, my attempts at naping were futile, with my sisters phone in the next room going off about every two secondds. I have to start thinking about an 8 hour shift at work tonight. Double Ughhh. I honestly have no business working around children - or even worse, their parents tonight. I can just tell that my facade of calm, cool, and collected, which normally gets me by just fine, is gonna snap the second someone asks for more lettuce or tries to sweet talk a free bracelet out of me.

Maybe I could just tell my boss all this. They would understand, right?

Haha. Yeah, right.

I do, for the most part, enjoy working. Generally speaking, it is enjoyable, and hardly ever do I have a "booring" shift. (This doesnt necessarily guarentee that they are always "fun") Usually my enjoyment level is directly effected by whom Im working with. hmmm. who am I working with tonight?? Nope. Dont remember I know it probably shouldnt be that way, but it is.

All I know is, I've got an hour to get some what happy. Because going into my place of business unhappy (yes, I know I have failed to mention excatly where it is that I work, but I do have SOME privacy) is suicide. It just wont work.

Here's to sleep.

Current Song Obsession

I know it's not literary genius, but my brain can only accomplish so much at 8:00 in the morning.

You never know what can happen
but, you never know what wont
The stories that you tell only madden
where do I find this hope

You look at me without fear
and I wish I could run - run away
I can see you pacing in the mirror
those practiced words, I wish I could say

Laughter can only cover
what it is we already know
while I fall into the cold sky's cover
I pray your warmth doesn't let me go.

Night Life

Have you ever pointed your camera at a bright light, and then shaken the camera while taken the picture? I know, you're probably thinking "Of course not! That's ridiculous!" But the results are amazing.

These are all picture of car headlights or street lamps that I saw on a night walk with my dog. In my opinion, the nighttime is one of the best times to walk. everything is calm and quiet. The cold air is refreshing, and even here in suburbia, the stars are always beautiful.

Oh, sleep.

Today I did something I have never done before. Something so shocking,it left me more than a little stunned, and required several double takes to verify its occurrence.

And it all started with a phone call - one I didn't answer.

When I first heard the phone ring, I pulled away from my dream about a friend yelling at me just enough to discover that me feet were cold, and curl into a warmer position.

The second time the phone rang (or was it the third - or even the fourth?), I found myself quickly yanked from the stroll in a greenhouse that I had been on while deep asleep, and quickly discovered that the sinus headache I went to sleep with had not gone away. I rolled back into bed, intending to sleep some more, when I heard the distant voice of my mother calling my name from the answering machine.

I slid out of bed and checked the clock on my way to pick up the phone. It was positioned at 1:30, and all I thought was "gotta put a new battery in that thing".

I picked up the phone, and while talking with my mother I looked at the clock on the oven. 1:30. I went and grabbed my cellphone. 1:30.

"Hey mom, what time is it?" "It's 1:30". Let the shock commence.

By now most of you are probably just as confused as I am. "Whats the big deal? So you slept in, you are on break." is probably along the lines of what you are thinking. But the thing is, I don't sleep in. At least, not by other people's standards. Nine o'clock is considered really late to sleep in for me (I blame my parents for programing me to always wake up at the crack of dawn. No offense, mom and dad :)

Suffice to say, this is a new 'sleep in world record' for me, one that makes me ask "what time will I wake up tomorrow??", because I'm definitely not going to be able to get to sleep at my preferred time of 10:00 tonight.

I love target.

This tag was on a jelwed headband I saw at target. It's nice to know that they think people should dress their age.

Images of the Season

It's January, and much of the nation is still very much in winter. But southern califoria? In the sun, the temperature reaches into the 80s.
